Wedding of Kendra Robinson & James Peterson - La Quinta, CA

On Saturday, June 6th, we were in La Quinta, California (near Palm Springs) at the Hideaway Country Club for the wedding of Kendra Robinson and James Peterson.

Kendra's parents are in the aviation business -- her mother founded Sierra West Airlines, a charter jet company; and her father is a pilot. So, there had to be aviation-related themes in this wedding, including the unique wedding cake and ice sculpture. And, the biggest aviation-related item was a surprise for the groom and the guests... Kendra's parents arranged for a chopper to pick up Kendra and her father right next to their house!

After circling the golf course for about 10 minutes, it landed near the green on the golf course where the ceremony was taking place.

The night was topped off by a huge fireworks display.

This was definitely one of the most elaborate and well thought-out weddings and receptions that I have ever had the honor to document!

Wedding of Summer Miller and Brad Shaw

On Friday, May 22nd, I was at the beautiful Pala Mesa Resort in nearby Temecula, CA for the wedding of Summer Miller and Brad Shaw.

Summer surprised her hubby-to-be, Brad, by renting him a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder for the day. The price for that gift? A modest $1500. YOWZA! And, he only had a chance to drive it for a couple hours before he had to start getting ready for the wedding.

Rumor has it that Brad topped it out over 140mph... a couple times... Actually, more than just a couple times... okay, actually, enough that the rental company called him and said that the sensor in the car told them that he had gone over 130 about 10 times and if he did it again, they'd shut the car off remotely.

Remotely! Big Brother!!! What's next? "Hi Dave, this is Tom from ACME Pacemakers, Inc. We see that you're behind on your payments and we'll be turning YOU off if your payment is not in by Tuesday, mmm-kay?"

Anyway... the wedding was great! And, I must give kudos to the event coordinator at Pala Mesa Resort, Kendra Koenig. She was completely on top of things and just the most polite, helpful, and non-stressed coordinator that I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

Sheila Zelaya - Maternity Portraits

On Saturday, May 2nd, Sheila Zelaya was in our studio for her maternity portraits.

We created some terrific images and amazing art, and Sheila got a well-deserved morale boost out of the session. As you will see below, Sheila proved that you can still be beautiful and sexy when you are just about ready to go into labor any day!

Rylin Ashlee Salon - Temecula, CA

On Sunday, April 26th, I took part in a small bridal fair held at the Rylin Ashlee Salon in Old Town Temecula.

Besides being there to meet brides and showcase some of our latest albums, photo books, and other products, I was also tasked with getting some shots of the models that were there to showcase the makeup and hairstyling talents of the salon staff, as well as the beautiful wedding gowns from Belle Mariee Bridal.

Wedding of Timarie Olsen and Shane Young

On April 11th, I was in Canyon Lake to document the wedding of Timarie Olsen and Shane Young at the Lamb's Fellowship church.

The reception followed at the beautiful Wiens Family Cellars winery in Temecula.

Timarie had e-mailed me this shortly after they booked me to shoot their wedding:

"Just thought you might like to know... Shane attended a dinner party in Orange County last weekend where one of the guests happened to be a wedding photographer. When she heard that Shane was recently engaged, she asked if we already booked a photographer. He mentioned we had and she asked what area we were from. When he said the Temecula area, she said, "Please tell me you booked Loren Scott!" Shane said we had, and she stated we were in 'good hands' as she heard you were the best in the Inland Empire. Kudos to you!!"

Murrieta Dance Studio - Kids

On Sunday, March 22nd, I was at the Murrieta Dance Studio to take some artistic black & white portraits of some of the youngest students there. 

I had previously shot similar-style portraits of the instructors there for display in large-format prints on the walls (go check 'em out!). In those shots, I used hard-edge lighting which mainly just outlined the form of the dancer with the center of their figure being somewhat silhouetted. Many of the parents of the younger dancers loved those shots and so we set up a photo day for the kids too. Some of the highlights are shown below. 

By the way... the first little girl (in the first four images) is not a student there, but is actually the younger sister of studio owner, Jax Gonzales. She was my "stunt model" while I was setting up the lighting. Her shots came out so cute, I just had to add a couple here as well. Enjoy!

Laura Walker-Judy - Maternity/Newborn Portraits

I had previously photographed Laura and Troy Judy's wedding on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2007.

On Tuesday, March 3rd, Laura Walker-Judy was back in front of my lens for her maternity portraits. Laura is extremely photogenic, which always makes my job a breeze when I am photographing her.

Laura JUST had her maternity portraits taken in time. Only four days later, Victory Lee Judy was born! On March 13th, Laura, Troy, and little Victoria came back to my studio (with Victoria on the outside this time) for their first family portraits ever.

I think Victoria got a bit shy in this next shot!
